Don't give the big retailers even more power!
Colin Barnett and the Liberals want to allow all shops to open at 7am during the week, instead of 8am. This will give the big retailers even more power, and come at great cost to retail workers, small businesses and local producers. Longer trading hours mean less competition, as smaller retailers shut down, leaving big retailers free to charge whatever they want. Longer trading hours also mean less choice of places to shop and products on the shelf. True economic reform should benefit the whole of the community, not just the big retailers.
